Marie Leon and 2 Others Hospitalized after Traffic Collision near Quinley Avenue
MERCED, CA (June 8, 2019) – Three people sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash near Quinley Avenue, Saturday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 12:35 PM. For unknown reasons, a westbound Toyota 2008 RAV 4 attempted to make a left turn into a private driveway. There, it collided with an eastbound 2005 Chevy Astro van on Highway 140.
Emergency crews airlifted the Toyota driver, identified as 20-year-old Judith Sandoval, and a passenger in a van, identified as 53-year-old Beatriz Leon, to a hospital with minor to moderate injuries. Meanwhile, a ground ambulance transported the van driver, identified as 38-year-old Marie Leon, to Merced Medical Center.
Investigators ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the crash.
