Gabriela Aragon Faces Murder Charges after Fatal DUI Crash Near County Club Road
TUCSON, AZ (December 22, 2019) – The authorities confirmed that Beatrice Alvarez died in a pedestrian accident on Ajo Way on late Sunday evening.
According to the Tucson Police Department, the incident happened near County Club Road.
Reports showed that Alvarez, 59, crossed the crosswalk when a vehicle ran a red light and hit her. After that, police identified her as the driver of the vehicle, 26-year-old Gabriela Aragon.
An attending coroner pronounced Alvarez dead at the scene. The paramedics confirmed that Aragon suffered minor injuries.
The authorities said that Aragon was drunk and speeding when the accident occurred. She is facing charges of second-degree murder, aggravated assault and criminal damage.
