Female Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Motorcycle near Algonquin Road
APPLE VALLEY, CA (July 16, 2018) – A woman was killed Monday evening after she was hit by a motorcycle near Algonquin Road. She was later identified as Barbra Newsome. Her age and place of residence was not immediately disclosed.
As per reports, the collision took place shortly before 9:00 PM on Bear Valley Road. Newsome was crossing in the eastbound lanes when she was struck by a westbound black 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Newsome sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
The motorcyclist was transported to the Loma Linda University Medical Center after suffering a broken arm. In recent updates, the he was reported to be in stable condition.
Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as possible contributing factors in the deadly crash.
