Barbara Tanner Dies in Head-On Crash on Highway 216 near Ivanhoe
IVANHOE, CA (October 17, 2019) — A 46-year-old woman died in a head-on crash at Highway 216 and Avenue 320 Tuesday night.
The authorities identified the victim as Barbara Tanner of Farmersville.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 6 p.m. 18-year-old Anmoldeep Singh was driving northbound on the highway near Ivanhoe when he attempted to pass another vehicle. Sing’s vehicle then collided head-on with a car occupied by Tanner and another woman.
Tanner died at the scene, while the 24-year-old driver was taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Singh also suffered major injuries. First responders took him to the hospital along with two 17-year-old boys in the car with him who had minor injuries.
The investigators said everyone was wearing their seatbelts during the collision. They also ruled out alcohol as a possible factor in the incident.
