63-Year-Old Victorville Woman Fatally Injured in Pedestrian Collision near Palmdale Road
VICTORVILLE, CA (August 19, 2018) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash on the 15 Freeway, early Sunday morning. The victim was later identified as 63-year-old Barbara Langlois of Victorville.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at approximately 3:25 AM near Palmdale Road.
Officials at the Barstow Communication Center received a call about a pedestrian standing in the center median of the freeway near Roy Rogers Drive. When CHP officers responded to the location, they found the victim lying in the roadway after being hit by an unidentified vehicle. It was not clear if the collision occurred in a designated crosswalk.
The vehicle left the scene after the incident, leaving the injured woman on the road. Emergency responders pronounced Langlois dead at the scene. Based on the initial assessment, it is believed that the hit-and-run vehicle was possibly pulling a utility trailer and could have major damage. There is currently no further details on the hit-and-run driver, or the vehicle involved.
