Barbara Hutson Injured in Lyle Car Accident
LYLE, WA (December 27, 2018) – A woman sustained injuries following a head-on car collision on Highway 14 near Lyle on December 23.
According to reports, a male Oregon resident was detained after crashing his car head-on into a car with two elderly occupants.
The WSP revealed that 44-year-old James Earls of Hillsboro, Oregon, was traveling east in the westbound lane of Highway 14 at around 7:45 p.m. when he collided head-on into the vehicle of 79-year-old Dale Hutson of Bingen.
The collision damaged Hutson’s car and injured Hutson’s passenger, 82-year-old Barbara Hutson. Barbara Hutson was transported to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center.
Earls was detained in the county jail and is charged with vehicular assault, no ignition interlock device, and driving with a suspended license.
Deputies also stated that drugs and alcohol were a factor in the collision.
