Barbara Chavez Dead in Rialto Accident on North Maple Avenue
RIALTO, CA (August 23, 2022) – Sunday afternoon, Barbara Chavez, 70, died in a hit-and-run crash on Maple Avenue and Foothill Boulevard.
The fatal accident occurred at around 2:47 p.m. on Maple Avenue and Foothill Boulevard.
When the officers arrived, they found two significantly damaged vehicles, a Mercedes SUV and a Honda sedan.
According to reports, a Mercedes fled from a hit-and-run crash. Then, it failed to yield at a red light while driving west on Foothill Boulevard. Afterward, the vehicle struck the Honda as it went south on Maple Avenue.
As a result, the female Honda driver, Barbara Chavez of Fontana, succumbed to injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, authorities arrested the driver.
