Early Morning Collision on Highway 43 in Bakersfield Leaves 1 Badly Injured
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 12, 2019) – One person was seriously injured following a two-car crash early Sunday morning on Highway 43 in Bakersfield.
The crash took place around 1:43 a.m., just North of Panama Lane.
A blue Ford Explorer and a Nissan Sentra collided, both blocking northbound traffic. The Ford turned on its side upon impact. The male driver was consequently trapped underneath the car as a result.
Paramedics responded to the scene and took the man to a nearby hospital,. He was allegedly suffering from major injuries due to the impact of the collision. The identity and condition of the patient were not immediately known.
Both lanes of Highway 43 were blocked during the rescue and clearing operations.
The cause of the crash and who may be at fault remain under investigation.
