Multi-Vehicle Wreck on Highway 58 in Bakersfield Kills 1 and Injures 2 Others
BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 30, 2018) – One person was killed and two others were injured following a multi-vehicle collision Sunday night in Bakersfield.
The fatal collision happened around 6:31 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 58 and Highway 99.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2010 Ford was traveling westbound on Highway 58 when for unknown reasons, it rear-ended a 2017 Subaru.
From the third lane, the Ford then entered the fourth lane, where it collided with a 2014 Dodge. The Ford was forced back into the its original lane where it slammed into the back of a 2012 Honda.
The driver of the Honda, only identified as a Bakersfield resident, suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital, where the individual was declared dead.
Two passengers in the Honda sustained minor injuries and transported to Kern Medical Center.
No additional information was provided at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
