Pedestrian Hospitalized after Crash with Vehicle between 18th and 19th Streets
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 5, 2018) – On Thursday night, a pedestrian collision on Union Avenue sent a man to the hospital with critical injuries.
According to the Bakersfield Police, the collision happened at around 8 PM on Union, between 18th and 19th Streets. The victim was crossing in an unmarked crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle. He sustained major injuries, and was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
The driver and her passengers were reportedly unharmed in the crash. She stayed at the scene and cooperate with the investigators. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to have played a part in the collision, as stated by police officers.
Union Ave was shut down by authorities during investigation.
