Fatal Bicycle Crash at 309 Oswell Street in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 11, 2019) – A bicyclist was killed after being struck by a vehicle Monday evening in Bakersfield.
The fatal crash happened around 10:07 p.m. at 309 Oswell Street.
According to an initial report by the California Highway Patrol, a bicycle rider was hit by an unknown vehicle. When officers arrived on the scene, the biker was blocking the traffic lanes.
Emergency crews were immediately dispatched and attempted life-saving aid to the victim. Tragically, the biker did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene.
No identifying information on either party is being released at this time. It is also unknown if charges has been filed and liability has not yet been determined.
The incident is still under investigation.
