4-Month-Old Pronounced Dead after Los Angeles Auto Collision on Nordhoff Street
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 11, 2020) – Late Monday night, a DUI driver killed her 4-month-old baby while sending her other two children to a hospital after a DUI accident on Nordhoff Street.
According to reports, the unidentified mother swerved her white SUV into oncoming traffic at high speeds. She eventually struck a black SUV head-on, as well as two parked vehicles.
Police arrived in the 15200 block of Nordhoff Street around 11:45 p.m., after receiving multiple calls regarding a reckless driver in the area.
Responding units extricated the female driver and transported her to a local hospital for further treatment. Meanwhile, medics also took her three children to area hospitals.
After being listed in critical condition, her 4-month-old baby boy was pronounced dead at the hospital. His twin suffered moderate injuries, while a young toddler suffered head lacerations and other serious injuries. However, authorities believe that they will survive.
Investigators also revealed that the children were not properly restrained at the time of the crash.
Meanwhile, the driver of the black SUV sustained minor injuries in the collision. Both of them were taken to area hospitals.
The involved vehicles required towing due to the extent of damage sustained.
Authorities are still investigating the collision to determine further details.
The identity of the DUI driver remains undisclosed at this time. There have been no updates regarding her arrest.
