Tremont Road DUI Crash kills Woodland Resident Ayush Shrestha

 
Davis, CA (April 19, 2021) – On Saturday, 18-year-old Ayush Shrestha of Woodland died while three others were injured in a DUI crash on Tremont Road.
 
The fatal single-car crash took place at around 9:30 p.m. east of Bulkley Road.
 
A black Ford Mustang with four occupants was eastbound at a high speed. Then, the driver took a turn that drove the vehicle into a field, then overturned.
 
Shrestha and Jasper Eerkens, an 18-year-old Davis man, as well as the right rear passenger of the Mustang were not wearing seat belts. As a result, they were thrown onto the road.
 
Unfortunately, Shrestha died at the scene, while Eerkens was taken to UC Davis Medical Center for treatment.
 
Moreover, the other two passengers, a 17-year-old girl, and a 16-year-old girl, both of Woodland, incurred major injuries. Rescuers took them to a Kaiser hospital in Vacaville.
