Two SUVs Collide Head-On Collision on Highway 41 in Avenal, Injuries Reported
AVENAL, CA (December 9, 2018) – A man was injured following a head-on collision Sunday afternoon in Avenal, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision happened around 4:21 p.m. on northbound Highway 41, just South of Utica Avenue.
CHP officials said that two black SUVs collided head-on, sending debris on the highway. A male occupant in one of the cars was possibly pinned inside the vehicle with injuries.
Paramedics were immediately called to the scene and gave aid to the injured patient.
There were no descriptions of any vehicular damages but both cars were towed away from the crash site.
The incident is still on active investigation while the authorities are putting the pieces together.
To avoid head-on collisions, stay well centered in your lane where oncoming traffic is less likely to stray, and where you can get to the shoulder or side of the road more quickly. Also, always adhere to designated speeds. You will have more time to react to a hazard and, should a collision occur, it will not be as damaging at a lower speed.
