Injury Reported in Fatal Traffic Crash near North Harris Avenue
Compton, CA (July 28, 2023) On Thursday morning, a sleeping homeless man died after an auto-pedestrian crash on Rosecrans Avenue.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the deadly traffic crash happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 2200 Block of East Rosecrans Avenue near North Harris Avenue.
Reports say that a male driver lost control of his SUV and hits a tree, then plows a bus stop, afterward struck a fire hydrant, and eventually stopping a short distance down the road.
Officials say that a man was sleeping at the bus stop, at the time of the crash. Authorities, pronounced the homeless man dead at the scene.
Authorities say that a female passenger on the SV suffered major injuries and was rushed to a hospital.
Meanwhile, the SUV driver was detained by deputies, but no details on what the probable cause of the crash were provided at this time.
