Augustus Staton Dead Following Pedestrian Accident in Cotati

 
Cotati, CA (November 16, 2020) – On Monday afternoon, a male pedestrian named Augustus Staton, 55, died in a crash on Myrtle Avenue and Macklin Drive.
 
Authorities reported that the Cotati fatal pedestrian crash happened at 12:30 p.m. on November 16.
 
Cotati Police reported that they found the Cotati man lying in the intersection near the entrance to the park. Apparently, a van struck him while he walked his dog.
 
Emergency crews declared him dead at the scene, though his dog did not sustain injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the officials, saying he didn’t know exactly where or in what direction the man walked when the accident happened.
 
Moreover, the van was adorned with the logo for Dr. Handyman, a Rohnert Park home repair and maintenance company.
 
Investigators continue to investigate and are going door to door to see if home surveillance cameras captured the accident.
