Police Chase on S 277th Street at West Valley Highway and Star Lake Road
AUBURN, WA (March 13, 2018) – A man was arrested after a police chase that began around 1:15 PM, in the area near South 277th Street at West Valley Highway and Star Lake Road
A Seattle Police officer saw the man on the 4400 block of 4th Avenue South and attempted to pull him over, thinking he might be the suspect from a motel shooting that happened on Sunday in North Seattle. The man in the SUV sped off.
He continued to drive recklessly and sped through red lights and stop signs, to try and lose the officer chasing him. He was chased through Tukwila, onto the northbound Interstate 5, and back onto State Route 167, where he took the S 277th St in Auburn. The driver then started maneuvering through side streets and residential areas.
Sean Whitcomb of the Seattle Police stated that the SUV was involved in multiple collisions with several vehicles during the police chase.Two minivans parked in the driveway of a home were damaged, and the front yard of the home had deep tire marks.
The chase continued until the Seattle Police Department caught up with him and conducted a PIT maneuver, spinning the truck, where it hit another vehicle. After caught by police officials, it was discovered that the man was not the wanted suspect from Sunday’s shooting, but that his vehicle was an unreported stolen truck. He was arrested and booked into the King County Jail for the stolen truck and the several hit-and-run collisions.

Roads were closed in the area of S 277th at West Valley Highway and Star Lake Road for several hours during investigation and cleanup. No other information has been provided at this time.
