45-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Newport Beach Car Collision
NEWPORT BEACH, CA (March 19,2020) – Thursday night, a car struck and killed 45-year-old Aubrye Foote in a pedestrian accident on San Joaquin Hills Road.
According to the Newport Beach Police Department, the incident happened around 11:20 PM near Newport Ridge Drive.
As per reports, Foote struck a male bicyclist, and as she tried to save his life, she herself was struck by another vehicle.
First responders arrived at the scene and transported Foote to Mission Hospital. As a result of the accident, she succumbed to her injuries.
Law enforcement does not believe drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the accident. In addition, the driver of the second vehicle involved cooperated with the investigation.
The surrounding area closed for a brief time for cleanup and preliminary investigation, but has since reopened. Police did not announce further details regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident at this time.
