4 People Dead after Crash in Wenatchee-Okanogan National Forest in Kittitas County
Kittitas County, WA (July 30, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, four people died in an ATV crash in Wenatchee-Okanogan National Forest.
The fatal crash happened around 4 p.m. on July 29.
According to the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office, an ATV, a Polaris Razor side-by-side, rolled and caught fire while being driven through the Wenatchee-Okanogan National Forest on a dirt road.
The owner and driver of the ATV was a 24-year-old man from Orting. In the ATV was his friend, a 23-year-old man from Orting, and a couple they met that day, a 26-year-old man from Kent and a 24-year-old woman from Maple Valley.
Both the 24-year-old Maple Valley woman and the 23-year-old Orting male passed away at the site.
The other two guys were flown by helicopter to Harborview’s burn center in critical condition, but neither of them made it through the night.
No other vehicles were involved. The cause of the accident and fire are being investigated.
