At Least One Dead in Chico Big Rig Accident on Highway 99
CHICO, CA (May 6, 2019) — At least one person died after a big rig collision on northbound Highway 99 at Eaton Road in Chico on Friday, May 3.
According to the California Highway Patrol, they received reports of the crash at 4:10 p.m. It appeared that a big rig and a Hyundai Santa Fe were part of the incident.
CHP public information officer Logan Callahan reported at around 5 p.m. that he could confirm there is a fatality from the collision. However, information about the crash is limited. He said that officers were investigating the incident.
The CHP reported that the wreck blocked both northbound lanes of the highway with traffic passing on the shoulder.
