State Route 221 Kills Asuncion Hernandez-Lopez and Another
Prosser, WA (August 12, 2021) – On Sunday, 46-year-old Asuncion Hernandez-Lopez of Prosser, and a 71-year-old man, died in a vehicle crash on State Route 221.
It was about 8:15 p.m. when Hernandez-Lopez was northbound on the freeway, approaching Sellards Road.
At the same time, the 71-year-old man was westbound on Sellards Road.
Reports said the 71-year-old man failed to yield to Hernandez-Lopez and hit his vehicle.
Unfortunately, Hernandez-Lopez and the other driver, died at the accident scene.
Officers have not yet released the 71-year-old man’s identity, pending notification of next of kin.
Moreover, investigating officers said, the two men were both wearing their seatbelts during the fatal crash.
The authorities are still investigating the crash. It is not yet known if drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.
