Glasgow Avenue DUI Crash Kills Asia Gonzales and Ryan Davis, Gustavo Ruelas Arrested
Inglewood, CA (April 30, 2021) – On Wednesday, 22-year-old Asia Gonzales and her 27-year-old boyfriend Ryan Davis died, while police arrested Gustavo Ruelas in a crash on Glasgow Avenue.
The accident started at about 10:30 p.m. near West Hillcrest Boulevard.
Authorities saw the blue Dodge pickup truck driven by Ruelas, 42, sped on streets and ran a red light on Century Boulevard near the 405 Freeway.
The CHP tried to pull him over on the 405 Freeway, but he refused to stop.
Ruelas exited onto Manchester Avenue and turned onto Glasgow Avenue. He plowed into a white sedan, wherein Gonzales and her boyfriend were occupants.
Surveillance video shows the moment the truck ran through a stop sign and rammed into the white car at a two-way stop, forcing the vehicle onto the sidewalk.
“Following this impact, due to the force and high speed, the blue pickup truck also struck another vehicle, which was actually parked along the curb,” an officer said
Ruelas then fled on foot as the officers started a short chase.
The officers finally took him into custody and booked him on a number of felony charges, including DUI of a drug.
Authorities pronounced Gonzales dead at the scene.
On the other hand, rescuers took Ryan Davis, the white sedan driver, to a local area hospital, where he died.
