29-Year-Old Motorcyclist Fatally Injured in Collision on La Sierra Avenue and Schuyler Avenue
Riverside, CA (March 11, 2018) – A fatal motorcycle accident took place on La Sierra Avenue near Schuyler Avenue, on Sunday night around 7 PM.
The motorcyclist was identified as 29-year-old Ashton Rae Aguilar. According to the Riverside Police Department, Aguilar was riding with a small group of motorcyclists, traveling south on La Sierra.
While splitting lanes, her motorcycle clipped the rear of a nearby vehicle, throwing her into the center divider.
Emergency personnel arrived and attempted to transport her to the nearby Kaiser Foundation Hospital. On the way, she suffered a cardiac arrest, and was later pronounced dead.
Motorcycle club members visited the scene of the accident later to pay their respects to her.
Authorities shut down the southbound lanes for a short period of time as investigation too place. Police say that becuase the practice of lane splitting is allowed in the state of California, it is important to stay alert and practice safe driving on the road.
