McArthur Jackson Hurt in Suspected DUI Collision on Highway 9
Sedro-Woolley, WA (December 5, 2023) On Friday evening, 20-year-old Ashlyn Stroud of Arlington, was killed in a tragic vehicle crash on Highway 9.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the suspected DUI collision happened around 10 p.m. on Highway 9 north of Sedro-Woolley.
Authorities say that 56-year-old McArthur Jackson of Oak Harbor, was driving a northbound Chevrolet Silverado that crossed the centerline and struck Stroud’s southbound 2020 Jeep Compass, near Bassett Road.
Medics rushed the injured woman to Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, then transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Meanwhile, Jackson was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett for treatment of his injuries.
WSP says that Jackson is under investigation for DUI and vehicular homicide.
