26-Year-Old Oceano Woman Killed in Solo Car Crash near Spyglass Drive

SHELL BEACH, CA (October 22, 2018) – A woman was killed Monday evening following a solo car crash near Spyglass Drive. The victim was later identified as 26-year-old Ashley Strong, a resident of Oceano.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at about 8:00 PM. A 2003 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by the victim, was heading south on Highway 101 when it lost control, went down an embankment, and slammed into a tree.

Strong suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the authorities as soon as possible. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
