Pierce County, WA (October 11, 2024) – On Friday, 86-year-old Arvil Crase died, and an 86-year-old woman sustained injuries in a crash on State Route 706.

Reportedly, an 86-year-old man from Tumwater, Arvil Crase, died in a car crash on Friday along state Route 706 in Pierce County. 

According to a press memo and Washington State Patrol spokesperson John Dattilo, Crase was a passenger in a vehicle traveling westbound near 226th Avenue at 10:45 a.m. 

The fatal collision occurred when a vehicle coming from the opposite direction veered off the road and struck Crase’s vehicle, which had turned left into a private driveway. 

The driver of Crase’s vehicle, an 86-year-old woman from Tumwater, sustained injuries and was transported to Tacoma General Hospital. 

The other driver, a 79-year-old man from Spanaway, was unharmed, as stated in the memo.
