Arvien Atakhanian of Glendale Arrested in Sunland Boulevard Fatal Crash [Sunland, CA]

Sunland, CA (December 21, 2023) – 28-year-old Arvien Atakhanian of Glendale was arrested following a Sunland Boulevard fatal crash Wednesday.

It was about 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday when a man in his 40s was hit by a grey 2023 Tesla Model 3 in the 10000 block area.

The medical responder rushed the victim to a hospital where he died. Officers withheld the deceased’s identity pending notification of his kin.

Witnesses said the southbound Tesla struck a pedestrian crossing the street west of Sunland Way. The Tesla driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid or identify themselves.

LAPD Valley Traffic Division detectives’ investigation led to the arrest of Atakhanian. The authorities booked him on suspicion of felony hit and run. He was being held without bail.
