Motorcyclist Arthur Maloles Dies in Torrance Crash on Hawthorne Boulevard
TORRANCE, CA (October 13, 2020) – On Monday afternoon, 44-year-old motorcyclist Arthur Maloles died in an accident on Hawthorne Boulevard near Lomita Boulevard.
According to Sgt. Alexander Martinez of the Torrance Police Department, at around 3:20 p.m., the northbound motorcyclist collided with a southbound Ford Escape making a left turn.
Subsequently, the motorcyclist, identified as Mr. Maloles, was treated at the scene; however, he succumbed to his injuries.
The Winnetka resident was the only fatality in this Torrance accident.
Moreover, the driver of the Ford Escape, a 56-year-old woman, sustained no injuries. Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be a factor in the fatal motorcycle crash.
As a result of the collision, officers closed down Hawthorne Boulevard between Lomita Boulevard and Skypark Drive to give way to the investigation.
