30-Year-Old Hemet Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle near Highway 74
PERRIS, CA (July 10, 2018) – A man was killed early Tuesday morning after he was struck by a vehicle near Highway 74. Riverside County Coroner officials later identified 30-year-old Arthur Arrellanes, a resident of Hemet, as the victim in this incident.
As per reports, the collision took place shortly before 3:00 AM on the southbound Escondido (215) Freeway, just north of Highway 74. Events leading to the incident were not immediately available to the public.
It was not mentioned whether or not the vehicle that hit Arrellanes stopped at the scene to cooperate with the investigators. The southbound lanes of the freeway were temporarily shut down to make way for a preliminary investigation. Authorities continue to seek information regarding why the pedestrian was walking on the freeway.
