Man Dies after Crashing into Two Tractors on Highway 97 in Goldendale
GOLDENDALE, WA (October 4, 2019) – A man was killed in a traffic accident Friday morning on Highway 97 about 18 miles north of Goldendale.
According to the Washington State Patrol, a red 2011 Ford Fiesta hatchback was heading north on Highway 97 when it crossed over the center lane. It then ran into a blue 2016 Kenworth tractor and flatbed trailer that was going southbound.
The Fiesta continued on to hit a second tractor traveling behind the first, a tan 2006 Peterbilt and trailer, WSP says.
As a result, the driver of the Fiesta died at the scene. The Klickitat County Coroner’s office identified him as Arnold Wright, 67, of Goldendale.
Debris from Wright’s Fiesta hit a third vehicle, a silver 2016 Ford F-250, located behind the two tractors.
No injuries to the other drivers were reported.
WSP suspects drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision. The agency continues to investigate.
During this delicate time, we would like to extend our deepest condolences to the loved ones and friends of Arnold Wright.
