1 Dead and 2 Injured in Oakdale Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 120
OAKDALE, CA (September 3, 2020) – On Tuesday, Armando Morones died and Erica Linja was arrested after a crash on Highway 120.
The incident occurred about 5:20 a.m. on Highway 120 about 10 miles east of Oakdale.
According to reports, Erica Linda, 36, drove east in a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban. However, she then drove across the double yellow lines. She drove across them to pass a semi-truck with no trailer.
As Linja traversed the westbound lane, her SUV sideswiped a Honda Civic. It then collided head-on into a utility pickup. Afterward, the semi-truck crashed with the Suburban.
Due to the impact, Linja’s passenger, Armando Morones of Empire, was ejected from the vehicle. The authorities declared him dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, responders airlifted Erica Linja to a Modesto hospital for treatment of major injuries.
Moreover, the 52-year-old Sonora man who drove the utility truck suffered minor injuries. He was said to be an employee of an Oakdale construction company.
Responders took him to a Modesto hospital via an ambulance.
Furthermore, the two other drivers remained uninjured. The authorities identified the driver of the Civic as a 54-year-old Turlock man. Meanwhile, a 35-year-old Planada man drove the semi.
The authorities charged Erica Linja of felony driving under the influence of alcohol and vehicular manslaughter.
