Police Search for Hit-and-Run Driver that Injured Man and Boy near Montague Avenue

 
ARLETA, CA (May 15, 2018) – A chain-reaction hit-and-run accident on Laurel Canyon Boulevard, sent a man and his son to the hospital, early Tuesday evening.
 
According to the Los Angele Police Department, the accident took place around 5:30 PM at the intersection of Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Montague Avenue. A van was traveling northbound on Laurel Canyon near the Montague Charter Academy, when it rear-ended a 2006 Kia Spectra.
 
From the impact of the collision, the Kia was pushed into a crosswalk where it struck a man and a boy that were crossing Montague. The child was severely injured and taken to the Northridge Hospital, where he later underwent surgery. The man was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. There is no update on the current medical condition of the victims involved.
 
The vehicle is described to be an older model Chevrolet van. It is believed to possibly be a bluish-gray color, with a blue stripe around the midline. The hit-and-run driver was reported to be either a white or Hispanic man, with a full-face beard. No other information has been provided at this time.
