2 Hospitalized in Smithville Motorcycle Crash
Smithville, MO (September 14, 2024) – Arlene Turner, 73, of Smithville, was injured following a Missouri Highway 92 collision Thursday morning.
It was around 11:40 a.m. when the traffic accident happened on westbound Missouri Highway 92 and Tillman Road. east of Smithville.
Investigators said a 17-year-old boy from Kearney, Missouri, driving a 2015 Honda CBR 300R motorcycle, attempted to overtake traffic. However, the motorcycle has struck a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Arlene Turner.
The teen rider was ejected from the bike. He was transported to North Kansas City Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officers said he was wearing his helmet at the time of the collision.
Turner was transported to the same hospital with minor injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt when the collision happened.
