5-Year-Old Girl Struck and Injured by Hit-and-Run Driver near South Street
LAKEWOOD, CA (July 22, 2018) – A young girl was hospitalized early Sunday evening after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver, near South Street. The child was later identified as 5-year-old Arie Cramer.
As per reports, the collision happened at about 6:15 PM in the 5800 block of Graywood Avenue. The child was in front of their home when a vehicle struck her. Events that led to the crash were not immediately available.
The young victim sustained major injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and evaluation. She was immediately taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after suffering a broken femur, skull fracture, and bleeding in her brain. Cramer reportedly underwent multiple surgeries and is on her way to recovery.

The driver did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. Authorities described the hit-and-run vehicle as a black car, possibly a Dodge Challenger, and there is currently no description of the driver. No other information has been disclosed to the public at this time.
