Stephanie Mellen of Eureka Involved in Humboldt Accident
Humboldt, CA (May 20, 2022) – On May 14, Troy Rassbach, 59, of Arcata, died in a US 101 pedestrian accident involving Stephanie Mellen, 44, of Eureka.
The authorities received the accident report at about 3:32 a.m. north of Indianola Cutoff.
Immediately, the paramedics responded and provided medical aid to the victim. However, Rassbach succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
According to the investigators, Rassbach was walking within the southbound lanes of the freeway when he was hit by the 2010 Honda Pilot driven by Mellen.
Officers say impairment is not a factor in Mellen’s end. The authorities added that impairment on Rassbach’s end will still be determined by the Humboldt County Coroner’s Office.
