Adelanto, CA (September 22, 2021) – On September 18, 41-year-old Adelanto resident, April Lyon, died, while Ysidro Pinon, 21-year-old, also a resident of Adelanto, was involved in the Adelanto Road crash.
The accident happened at about 5:57 p.m. at the intersection with Air Expressway.
Officers said Lyon was driving a tan 1999 Chevy Tahoe with her husband as the front passenger and their 6-year-old son sat in the rear behind Lyon’s husband.
At the same time, Pinon, a resident of Adelanto, was driving a silver 2011 Ford Fusion northbound on Adelanto Road. Officers said he failed to stop for the red traffic light.
“Pinon broadsided Lyon’s vehicle on the driver’s side causing Lyon’s vehicle to roll over an unknown number of times,” reports said.
Unfortunately, Lyon was thrown from her vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The authorities airlifted Lyon’s husband and son to Loma Linda University Hospital for major injuries.
Meanwhile, Pinon incurred moderate injuries and refused to be medically transported.
Officers are investigating this crash to determine whether alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the crash.
