3 People Hurt in 2-Vehicle Accident on Highway 119
Taft, CA (June 19, 2023) On Saturday evening, 25-year-old Apolonia Garciavelasco was arrested following a DUI collision on Highway 119.
According to the Taft Police Department (TPD), a 2-vehicle accident happened between a gray Toyota Camry and a Toyota Corolla on Highway 119 south of Gardner Field Road.
Reports say that Garciavelasco was driving a northbound Corolla and drifted into the opposite lane and crashed into the southbound Camry.
Officials say that 3 occupants of both vehicles sustained injuries and were transported to Bakersfield hospitals for treatment.
Police arrested Apolonia Garciavelasco for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol causing bodily injury, driving without a license, and having no proof of insurance at the scene of a collision. Garciavelasco is booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Central Receiving facility.
