12-Year-Old Apollo Rogers Dies Dies in Hit-And-Run Crash on Stalcup Road in Fort Worth

Fort Worth, TX (November 14, 2024) – A hit-and-run crash on Stalcup Road on Thursday night killed a 12-year-old Apollo Rogers.

The victim, identified as Apollo Rogers of Fort Worth, was crossing the street at a crosswalk near the 3700 block of Stalcup Road, close to East Berry Street and East Loop 820, when an SUV ran a red light and struck him. 

Police reported that the SUV immediately fled the scene after the collision.

Officers responded to the auto-pedestrian crash around 8 p.m. and found the injured child. First responders transported Rogers to a hospital, where he later died, police confirmed.

As of late Thursday, no arrests had been made, and traffic officers continued to investigate the crash. 

Authorities have not released details about the suspected vehicle.

Fort Worth Independent School District officials confirmed that Rogers was a student at the Young Men’s Leadership Academy. 

In a statement, they expressed their sorrow, urging families to support the school community during this difficult time. 

Grief counselors were made available on campus to assist students and staff.
