Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Train on Grapefruit Boulevard in Coachella

 
COACHELLA, CA (November 25, 2019) – A woman was killed after being struck by a train Monday last week in Coachella.
 
The fatal incident happened around 1:58 p.m. in the 51700 block of Grapefruit Boulevard, also known as Highway 111, at Avenue 52.
 
According to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner, a 39-year-old Anya Solomon of Coachella was walking near the tracks when the train hit her.
 
As a result, Solomon sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
No additional information was provided at this time. The accident remains under investigation by the Coachella Sheriff’s Department.
