74-Year-Old Grand Terrace Man Fatally Injured in Collision on Perris Boulevard
PERRIS, CA (April 28, 2018) – A man was fatally injured in a two-car collision on Walnut Street, early Saturday evening. The deceased victim was identified on Monday as 74-year-old Antonio Ramirez of Grand Terrace.
According to reports, Ramirez was traveling eastbound on Walnut around 5:00 PM when he came to a stop at the intersection. As he attempted to cross traffic and drive northbound on Perris Boulevard, he failed to see a southbound vehicle.
The two cars crashed at the intersection of Perris and Walnut. Ramirez suffered major injuries and was taken to the Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley, where he died shortly after. The 20-year-old driver of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries and was treated at the same hospital.
Southbound lanes of Perris Blvd were closed until after 9:00 PM while the Perris Traffic Reconstruction Team investigated the scene.
Drugs and alcohol are not considered to be contributing factors in this fatal collision. Officials continue to investigate the accident, and urge witnesses with additional information to call Officer Kiebach at the Perris Police Department – (951) 210-1074.
