42-Year-Old Hayward Woman Dies after Crashing Car into Guardrail on Highway 4 in Antioch
ANTIOCH, CA (February 23, 2019) – A woman was killed following a car accident early Saturday morning in Antioch, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The fatal crash happened just before 2:00 a.m. on Highway 4 at Contra Loma Boulevard.
According to the CHP, a 2011 Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound on Highway 4 at an unknown rate of speed, when it veered off the roadway and crashed into a metal guardrail on the L Street off-ramp.
The Corollas driver, a 42-year-old Hayward woman, was found unresponsive with severe injuries. She was rushed to a hospital, where she was declared dead. Her name has not yet been released by police pending notification of her family members.
It is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were contributing factors in the crash which remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the incident can call the CHP’s Contra Costa area office at 925-646-4980.
