Sacramento Man Dead in Oakland Crash on 55th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way
OAKLAND, CA (January 27, 2021) – Monday night, Anthony Taylor died in an auto accident on 55th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
The officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 11:08 p.m. on 55th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
According to officers, a woman drove a 2012 Jeep Liberty north on Martin Luther King Jr. Way. Then, she made a left turn to go down 55th Street. However, a speeding, southbound 2001 Toyota Camry struck her Jeep.
As a result, the 40-year-old Toyota driver, Anthony Taylor, lost control of his vehicle. Then, he drove south until he crashed into a pillar in the 5400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
The firefighters and paramedics who came to the scene declared Anthony Taylor dead. At this time, the authorities haven’t clarified whether the female driver was injured.
Also, they haven’t confirmed whether impairment was a factor.
