Esperanza Cruz Dead, 1 Injured Following Tustin DUI Accident

 
Tustin, CA (February 24, 2021) – On Tuesday, police arrested 27-year-old Anthony Robles of Rowland Heights in a fatal DUI crash on the 55 Freeway.
 
The fatal incident took place before 2:10 a.m., wherein 24-year-old Anaheim woman, Esperanza Cruz, died.
 
Apparently, Robles was driving a BMW sedan at an unsafe speed south on the 55 Freeway.
 
Ahead of him was a Lexus SUV, driven by Oriana Rousseau, 22, traveling in the same direction and lane. Suddenly, the front Robles’ vehicle crashed with the rear of the Lexus, causing the Lexus to overturn.
 
Unfortunately, Cruz, a passenger in the BMW, died at the scene.
 
Right away, rescuers took the Lexus driver, a 22-year-old Newport Beach woman, to a hospital for moderate injuries.
 
Officers arrested Robles on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
