Anthony Lopez Loses Life in Bear Valley Parkway Hit-and-Run Crash [Escondido, CA]

Escondido, CA (June 26, 2022) – On Saturday, 14-year-old Anthony Lopez sustained fatal injuries in a Bear Valley Parkway hit-and-run crash.

The authorities received the crash report at 9:27 p.m. in the area of Grand Avenue.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they located Lopez lying in the roadway while the involved vehicle has already left.

Right away, the paramedics rushed Anthony Lopez to Palomar Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

“Investigators determined the boy had been crossing east in the crosswalk of Bear Valley Parkway at Grand Avenue and was struck by a vehicle which had been traveling north on Bear Valley Parkway,” Lt. Scott Walters said.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, the authorities booked 70-year-old Jon Kiesel of Escondido into the Vista Detention Facility for hit and run.
