Bicyclist Fatally Struck by Car on Highway 101 at Tamalpais Drive
CORTE MADERA, CA (January 19, 2019) – A man was killed following a bicycle crash Saturday evening on Highway 101 in Marin County.
The fatal crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on southbound Highway 101 at Tamalpais Drive off-ramp, just North of Paradise Drive.
According to reports, the man was riding his bicycle and was weaving through traffic on Highway 101 before he was struck by a car. The victim was wearing a dark clothing at the time of the crash.
First responders found the man lying in the middle of the roadway with fatal injuries. He was later identified by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office as a 42-year-old Anthony Letigre of Greenbrae.
The driver who struck Letigre stopped and cooperated with officers.
All lanes were closed until around 10:00 p.m. while officers documented the incident.
It is unknown if charges has been filed and liability has not yet been determined. Further investigation is underway.
