Anthony Ferreiro Dies in Violent Auto-Pedestrian Crash on Highway 120 [Escalon, CA]

Escalon, CA (April 19, 2024) On Saturday evening, 20-year-old Anthony Ferreiro of Escalon died in a horrific pedestrian crash on Highway 120.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly auto-pedestrian crash happened at about 8:39 p.m. on State Route 120 near Steinegul Road.

Reports say that a 42-year-old Oakdale woman driving an eastbound 2010 Subaru Forester struck Ferreiro while the man was standing in the eastbound lane of the highway.

Officials say that Ferreiro was hit by the front of the Subaru and the man hit the vehicle’s windshield. The impact of the collision sent the victim to the pavement and ended up on the south asphalt shoulder of Highway 120.

Authorities say that there were no street lights in the area and it was dark at the time of the crash.

First responders arrived and attempted to revive the patient, however, Ferreiro ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

CHP is investigating the fatal pedestrian crash and have not releases further details at this time.
