HWY 50 Crash Injures Teen Passenger

Placerville, CA (October 13, 2022) – On Friday, the authorities arrested 36-year-old Anthony Estrada of Oakland, in a  DUI collision on Highway 50 that injured a teen passenger.

The authorities responded to the crash scene at about 12:30 a.m. to the eastbound freeway near Smith Flat Road.

Officers say the 2004 Honda Civic driven by Anthony Estrada was traveling at a high rate of speed and was involved in a two-vehicle crash near Bedford Avenue. 

A 15-year-old passenger in the other vehicle was rushed to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The rescuers also took Anthony Estrada to a hospital with injuries and the officers arrested him after being released from the hospital.

Moreover, Anthony Estrada was booked into the El Dorado County Jail in Placerville on charges of DUI causing injuries, driving on the wrong side of a divided roadway, and driving on a suspended license with a bail of $110,000. Records show he has since been released.
