Early Morning Crash on 14 Freeway at Barrel Springs Road Kills 1 Passenger
PALMDALE, CA (January 4, 2020) – A man was killed following a traffic collision early Saturday morning in Palmdale.
The crash happened around 1:11 a.m. on northbound 14 Freeway, just south of Barrel Springs Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix had crashed on the freeway at a bridge abutment. The driver and his two passengers exited the car which was partially blocking the freeway.
A short time later, a second vehicle approached the scene. One of the passengers went over the bridge abutment and fell in the waterway below. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The coroner’s office identified the victim as Anthony J. Beckett Jr., 42, of Lancaster.
