27-Year-Old Ansar Azim Dead After DUI Crash on 24th Street in Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ (May 18, 2024) – Early Saturday, 27-year-old Ansar Azim died after DUI crash on 24th Street and Indian School Road.

Phoenix police received a call to the area of 24th Street and Indian School Road just before 12:30 a.m. 

Officers arrived to find a man who had been riding a motorcycle with serious injuries. He was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries. 

The motorcyclist has been identified as 27-year-old Ansar Azim.

The other vehicle involved in the crash remained at the scene, according to police, who believe impairment is a factor in the crash. 

Charges against the 53-year-old driver of the other vehicle are pending. 

Police believe the driver was attempting to turn left onto Indian School Road and failed to yield for Azim, who hit the vehicle on the driver’s side while heading westbound on Indian School Road. 

The crash remains under investigation.
