39-Year-Old Annamarie Johnson Fatally Struck by Passing Vehicle at Village and Oceanside Drives
VICTORVILLE, CA (August 2, 2019) – A woman died in a pedestrian crash late Friday evening in Victorville, CHP officials said.
The fatal crash happened around 10:50 p.m. near the intersection of Village Drive and Oceanside Drive.
According to the CHP, a 39-year-old Annamarie April Johnson, a Victorville resident, crossed the intersection when a truck struck her.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene and found Johnson lying on the south shoulder of Village Drive with major injuries.
A bystander had begun to administer CPR to the victim and deputies continued. Paramedics arrived and transported Johnson to a local hospital. However, hospital staff pronounced her dead at 12:09 a.m. on Saturday.
According to a news release, the driver of the car and her passenger remained at the scene. In addition, they cooperated with the investigation. Drugs and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.
